Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar
Habyt has recently introduced a brand-new accomodation area at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the front runner spot for the operator’s Habyt Flex design, that represents a strategic growing of the firm’s product offerings beyond long-term co-living.
The adaptable space lies inside a preserved 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, designed by the architectural company Swan & Maclaren, was one of the oldest modernist buildings in Singapore. It was developed to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.
Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell represents the company’s promise to redefining flexible living in Singapore and marks its change towards the next stage of development for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room prices at Kada at Maxwell is going to begin at $180 per day.
“By mixing contemporary benefits with the timeless beauty of a heritage building, we’re offering guests a special lifestyle journey that surpasses conventional accommodation,” adds Wong.
In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong signalled that the firm was trying to include even more short-term living choices to its local lineup. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both launched in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen House by Habyt.
A public tender to lease the property, now managed by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was released in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the quality of the proposed idea, and SLA enticed bidders to consider creative way of living concepts.
SLA cited Bethesda’s strong concentrate on community building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its concept the winning edge. The first level will feature 10 F&B offerings, while the second level will certainly house a gym by Limitless, a wellness centre in collaboration with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working area. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the third floor.
The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, which sent a monthly rental bid of $103,000, the third-highest bid cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
Kada at Maxwell will likely use a series of spaces, including en suite studios and two- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely set up kitchenette. Visitors can book rooms on a nightly or weekly basis, with a 12-month option even available.
Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy unlimited and courtesy access to the property’s health and well-being features, such as the performance health club, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs and foot baths.
